Download of JavaView Archives

Instructions:

  1. Determine if you either want a separate JavaView installation (default)
    or want to run JavaView within Mathematica or Maple
  2. Download the corresponding installer or ZIP file by clicking on its name
  3. Launch the installer respectively extract the ZIP file to a directory of your choice, say <JavaView>/
    When unzipping, ensure that the directory structure of the ZIP file and the case of filenames is preserved.
  4. Authors may want to download additional files from the Tools section and extract to the same directory
  5. Read the included file <JavaView>/readme.txt resp. <JavaView>/readme_linux.txt for further instructions
  6. Register online and save the obtained license file as <JavaView>/rsrc/jv-lic.lic
    Registration is needed for users of the JavaView application.

Beta Versions

Public beta versions of JavaView are available at www.javaview.de/download/beta/. Beta versions require the same registration as release versions. There is no support for beta versions although we strongly encourage testing and bug reports.

Current Release v5.01 (Major Release)

We strongly suggest to upgrade your installation of JavaView to the latest release, required for 2020 registration. For most parts of the system we assure backward compatibility. The built number of the current release is specified in _jarVersion.txt.

Download one of the following installation packages depending on your operating system.

(1) Installer (MS-Windows only):

javaviewWin_setup.exe ~11.9 MB The full JavaView software bundle and utility files. Includes the JavaView archives, application, doc, sample models, tutorial source code.
  Includes full installation of JavaView. Also includes optional support for Mathematica. (Maple users must download separate zip)

(2) Full JavaView Package (MS-Windows, Unix, Apple, ...):

javaviewFull.zip ~14.5 MB The JavaView software bundle and utility files. Includes the JavaView archives, application, doc, sample models, tutorial source code.
  Users of Mathematica and Maple must download a separate package, see below.

(3) JavaView Base System (RPM Bundle for Linux) new:

javaview-3.90-1-linux-2.6-intel.rpm
STILL v3.90, use (2)

Allows to run and script JavaView within Mathematica.

JavaViewLib - The JavaView software bundle for integration with Maple.
Allows to run JavaView within Maple.
   

Tools for Developers:

Extract these ZIP files in the same directory <JavaView> where javaview.zip was extracted.

jv_tutor.zip ~0.5 MB Source code of the tutorial applets of JavaView . The applets describe step-by-step how to use JavaView 's class library to write own applets. Each tutorial consists of a specific task and provides the corresponding Java source code.
jv_doc.zip ~4.9 MB Reference documentation of the JavaView produced from source code including all public member variables and methods.
jv_models.zip ~6.0 MB JavaView 's collection of sample geometry models

Other Tools:

The following tools are included in the standard JavaView bundle javaview.zip but are available here for separate download.

jv_liteall.zip ~0.2 MB Lite version of JavaView for display of precomputed geometries in web pages. Very small archive (~200KB) for fast download since it includes only the viewer module, no dialogs/inspectors.
jv_suball.zip ~0.1 MB Standalone version of submission form for submitting models to the EG-Models archive.
